When Do You Know It’s Time For A Website Redesign

Your website is an essential part of your company marketing mix, but like anything else has a shelf life. How long your website stays relevant depends in part on the nature of your industry but 3-5 years is about the average length between website redesigns.

Below are some questions to consider to help access when if its time for a refresh.

  • Are you making excuses for your website when you hand out a business card? If you find yourself saying things like ‘my site is old’, or ‘don’t go there’, or ‘I’m fixing it up’, then it’s probably time to take the plunge.

  • Does your website reflect the current nature of your business? Businesses move fast to respond to the needs of their market place. Does your website accurately showcase your services, brand, portfolio, products, pricing, etc?
  • Are there new capabilities that you could add to your website to make your life easier? Sometimes a little upfront investment can save a lot of money/time in the long run. Examples can be e-commerce, appointment scheduling, client logins, content management systems and so on.
